About Marigold and Marie
Marigold & Marie began with a very personal search.
After having my second son during COVID, my weight was fluctuating a lot. Like many women, I found myself constantly buying pants and jeans—only to have them not fit a few months later. It was frustrating, expensive, and honestly exhausting.
I started looking for clothing that could move with my body instead of fighting against it. Something flexible. Something beautiful. Something I could keep wearing even as my size changed.
That’s when I discovered wrap skirts.
I fell in love immediately. They were comfortable, adjustable, and flattering in a way that traditional sizing often isn’t. I started wearing them everywhere—and people noticed.
One day I decided to make a little deal with myself. I put on one of my favorite skirts and said, “If I get four compliments on this skirt today, I’m going to figure out how to turn this into a business.”
That day, I got four compliments.
So I started researching suppliers, learning about textiles, and exploring ways to bring beautiful, flexible clothing to more people. In November 2022, Marigold & Marie was born.
Our Mission
Today, this little idea has grown into something I care deeply about.
Our skirts are made from upcycled textiles, giving beautiful fabrics a second life instead of allowing them to end up in landfills. The fashion industry creates an enormous amount of textile waste, and I believe small choices—like choosing clothing that already exists—can make a meaningful difference.
But sustainability isn’t just about fabric.
It’s also about buying pieces you truly wear. Clothing that fits through body changes, seasons of life, and different occasions stays in your closet longer—and out of the waste stream.
That’s why wrap skirts are at the heart of Marigold & Marie. Their adjustable design allows them to fit across sizes, making them a lasting piece rather than something you outgrow.
Our skirts are created by talented fair-trade artisans in India, whose craftsmanship brings each piece to life. Every skirt carries the beauty of traditional textile artistry while helping extend the life of existing fabrics.
Marigold & Marie is also deeply committed to size inclusivity. Beautiful clothing should never be limited to a narrow range of sizes. Our pieces are designed to fit kids through women’s sizes 0–32, so more people can experience clothing that feels joyful, comfortable, and expressive.
And the best part? These skirts are incredibly versatile.
